We like service station photos a whole lot here on The Old Motor, and night shots of West Coast locations are among our favorites. It’s November 18, 1934 and this sparkling clean little establishment in the coastal community of Long Beach is catering to a varied clientele. You can get some genuine Ford parts for your old Henry, an oil change and lubrication job or Bill’s Motor Service could decarbonize your big Pierce-Arrow.
Marine fuel was also available should you want to spend a day on the water, or if you made your living out there. All this and more under the canopy of a classic California palm. You’ll find many more pages of gasoline stations on The Old Motor. Photo by G. Haven Bishop courtesy of the Huntington Library.
