A Pint Sized Racer

The 1950s were the beginning of the Quarter Midget racing craze. Thousands of youngsters across the U.S. took to the tracks, dirt and paved alike. It was a family sport, as Dad and mom were the pit crews and provided support and tranportation.

Here in this photo from 1957, six year old Mickey Barry one hands his racer intensely as he takes a Victory Lap.
