Land speed racing car art by Stefan Marjoram. Top, the Fiat Mefistofele….Ernest Eldridge fitted a huge 21.7 litre airship engine to this car and used it to set the land speed record of 146mph in 1924.
Bottom the Renault 40CV…..This car set records at the Monthlery circuit in 1925. A lap record of 110mph and 87mph over 24 hours.
