A very nice factory image of one of Hudson’s “Pike’s Peak” Specials above and an Essex below. Hudson did quite well on the hill, which back in this time was a major racing event. Many of the factories had team cars, as a win on the Peak could give a company great exposure in the auto market of the day.
The Essex was Hudson’s lower cost 4-cylinder car which also was quite a performer. They became very popular as the basis to build a dirt track racing car from many of which were very similar to these two cars pictured here.
