Here we see “Smiling Ralph Mulford” and the crew from the factory Paige team with a with one of the cars they raced on the beach at Daytona in 1921. This photo is from the Peter Helck collection and his note on the back of one of the photos mentions that he set class records with this semi-stock Paige. It appears to be a stock chassis with a small cowl and seats to eliminate the factory body. In our next post from the beach we with cover the well known Paige Daytona Speedster and try to research if they modified the drivetrains on these cars at all. Photo courtesy of Racemaker Press.
