Why? I mean, what else can you say?
My thoughts exactly.
What you might say is, “Let me see the rest of the story.” This is a Burnelli UB-20, one of nine planes designed and built by Temple, Texas born Vincent Burnelli. Imagine this, and larger planes of this design, as bombers in WWII. Burnelli’s design out performed all others in 3 military competitions prior to WWII. Burnelli came within a pen stroke of becoming the next great bomber in the U.S. inventory.
See more about this fantastic plane at burnelli.com. See Burnelli’s last design before his death in 1964 that rivals NASA’s X-43, hypersonic program in the 21st century. So says a Senior Aeronautical Engineer at Langley. The word he used in comparing the design similarities? Striking! Check it out. I’m workin’ on it.
