This busy street scene shows us downtown St. Louis, Missouri, taken from Seventh, looking south on Locust St. Other than the building on the right, which has since been modernized, the rest of the buildings have been been replaced and the street today has been narrowed and is a one-way.
We can see an assortment of late 1920s automobiles, a screened-sided truck is seen in the bottom middle of the photo and just ahead of it is a horse-drawn wagon. The photo is courtesy of Joe Sonderman who has a Route 66 photo collection that we have been posting in a series. Sonderman has written a very interesting book called Get Your Pics on Route 66.
