We like this racy looking car that W.C. Bodega, Jr. and Jane White are posing in here at Rice Airfield, in or near Houston, Texas in 1915. It appears to have been patterned after one of the early four-cylinder Duesenberg racing cars, which were very active on tracks around the country at the time. It is not known if Bodega actually raced it or what lightweight chassis it was based on.
The enlargements (above) should help our eagle-eyed readers study it’s construction and help us to identify the maker. The tubular front axle might serve as as a clue in this quest. Note the two small lights under the radiator cowling and the 5999, which appears to have been the registration number. Photo courtesy of the Houston Public Library.
